THE ROLE

The Graduate Virtualisation and Automation Engineer role is perfect for an IT graduate who has recently completed a Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar degree, and is interested in Cloud and Virtualisation, Enterprise Storage Technologies.

You will be joining a team of Virtualisation Engineers responsible for the operations, maintenance, and high availability of the group ecommerce platform and test/development environments, embracing new technologies to improve and streamline systems and processes.

You will have exposure to an array of systems and technologies, learn about the operational management of production Virtualisation estates and enterprise storage technologies in high performance environments.


Requirements

Person Specification

Basic knowledge of Virtualisation as a concept

Passion for technology and a drive to make constant improvements.

Good communication skills, and ability to work independently and within a team

You will need to be a versatile individual willing to investigate new technologies and keep up to date with the technology sector.

This role requires the ability to manage time effectively, including day to day tasks and project work.

Knowledge of scripting/programming (Bash, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript, Python) and/or VMware Virtualisation Products desirable

An appreciation for Security within Operating Systems and Applications

An understanding of database technologies
