Job Description:
We are recruiting for a Senior Technology Buyer to support the Group Procurement team. This is an exciting opportunity where you will be managing and negotiating high value contracts and inputting into global strategic technology capital investments. This will span greenfield sites and upgrades to existing infrastructure. You will be required to support the identification of the best value and innovative suppliers, securing excellent service from the supply base, reduce costs where possible and look for opportunities for continuous improvement. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work in other indirect spend categories, such as marketing, depending on experience and interests.

Main Responsibilities:

Full responsibility for Technology Procurement spend across the Group.

Developing a strategic sourcing plan for the Groups technology investments

Develop understanding of legislative requirements in procuring technology effectively

Support development of commercial competency throughout the technology function

Create effective processes to support a fast moving business whilst achieving value for money

Develop and provide strong market insight

Challenge supplier and software nominations appropriately

Identify and implement cost saving initiatives, negotiate terms, instigate and complete supplier set-ups

Breadth of spend category is wide so good stakeholder engagement and management is essential for the successful candidate to succeed in this role. Key interfaces include - Legal / Technology / Finance / Supply Chain etc

Requirements

To be considered for this role you should have the following skills / experience:

At least 2 years’ experience in Technology & Indirect Procurement

Ideally experience negotiating early license arrangements

Undergraduate degree or equivalent

Excellent and proven negotiation skills

Strong communication skills particularly an ability to translate commercial requirements into business decisions

Strong analytical & numerical skills

Strong and proven commercial acumen

Proficient in using Microsoft Office to a high standard, particularly Excel.
